Blog for week of 11/12/12

This article is about how Cinemark is rewarding customers who do not text during a film. Cinemark came up with an app for iPhone and Androids that determine whether someone uses their phone during the film. If the customer stays in the app through out the film, it will automatically send the customer a coupon. The article says this about one of Cinemarks idea "... they’d consider scheduling separate screenings of a film designating ones where texting would be allowed, and others where it wouldn’t."

I found this article really intresting because i think it is good that they are trying to fix the problems they have. This article affects students because they will not text as much, they can actually focus on the movie, and not distrub the people around them. As a future filmmaker, this motivates me along with many other things because people will actually pay more attention to my films and maybe more people would even go and watch it since they will know they will not be distracted as much during the film. As a consumer this affects me because i would want to go the movies more since i know that i will not be distracted, and maybe even if i don't text during the film in general i can sign up for that app and get coupons!

Some questions this article brings me are:
-"How will this affect cinemark theatres?"
-"Will they have a lot more customers?"
-"Will other theatres start doing this also?"
