Blog:

This article is about how the seven lawsuits that were filed to Cinemark because of the Midnight Shooting during The Dark Night Rises will go into one big case They will go to trial on a year and a half.  Three of the victims filed lawsuits on September 21 and four more suits were filed October 11 by some of the victims and their families.
This article is important because this shows how the people who are filing law suits actually get the chance to have a trial. What caught my eye, is that i thought that they were never going to get a chance to have their trial. As a future filmmaker, this can help me think about how i should think about how my films can affect other people. As a consumer this affects me because this shows if i ever have a problem, and i need to have a trial i know that i may actually have the chance to one.
The questions this article raises up questions like:
What will be the outcome of this trial?
How will this affect other people?

Blog for week of 11/12/12

This article is about how Cinemark is rewarding customers who do not text during a film. Cinemark came up with an app for iPhone and Androids that determine whether someone uses their phone during the film. If the customer stays in the app through out the film, it will automatically send the customer a coupon. The article says this about one of Cinemarks idea "... they’d consider scheduling separate screenings of a film designating ones where texting would be allowed, and others where it wouldn’t."

I found this article really intresting because i think it is good that they are trying to fix the problems they have. This article affects students because they will not text as much, they can actually focus on the movie, and not distrub the people around them. As a future filmmaker, this motivates me along with many other things because people will actually pay more attention to my films and maybe more people would even go and watch it since they will know they will not be distracted as much during the film. As a consumer this affects me because i would want to go the movies more since i know that i will not be distracted, and maybe even if i don't text during the film in general i can sign up for that app and get coupons!

Some questions this article brings me are:
-"How will this affect cinemark theatres?"
-"Will they have a lot more customers?"
-"Will other theatres start doing this also?"

Blogggg...

This article i read is about how people are already camping out for the premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 2. The film comes out on Monday, and people are already camping out. There will be many different events for the campers. They will have events like fitness workouts, mini concerts, breakfasts, and showing s of past Twilight movies.

What caught my eye about the article was the fact that so many people are waiting for the showing of this movie. I would understand if they camped out a day before but when i saw it was 4 days in advanced, I think this is so ridiculous, even if I am a fan of the Twilight Saga.

As a future filmmaker I think reading this article defenitely motivates me to try to make movies that will be this succesful! As a consumer this affects me because i wonder how this will impact me. Some questions that come into mind while reading this article are questions like:
"How much money will this movie make?"
"Will it break records?"
"How many campers will there be in total?"

Blog, Blogg, bloggg...

The article I read is about how many companies are helping with Hurricane Sandy. Disney for example is donating $2 million to the American Red Cross and other organizations. Disney also says it will help out by  matching employee contributions dollar for dollar. According to the article "Time Warner Cable is donating $600,000 and is dispatching vehicles with mobile charging stations and free Wi-Fi access throughout New York City." Viacom is making a  $1 million donation. And also according to the article the company says it will donate $500,000 to the Mayor’s Fund for NYC and a lot more.
I chose this specific article because i found it interesting how these companies are helping out the situation. As a student this article impacts me because it encourages me to work hard to be able to help if needed. As a future filmmaker this really motivates me to try to have my movies succeed because then I will be able to help anyone who is in need of my help. As a consumer this impacts me because this might make me want to switch my cable company to Time Warner Cable for example.
Some questions that come into mind after reading this article are questions like:
- What other companies will be helping out with Hurricane Sandy?
-How will this affect the companies helping out?
