The article that I read has to do with how Fox Entertainment has been sued many times. The problems have to do with Interns. For example two interns in 2010 sued Fox for "alleged violations of employment laws". Some people even sued for unpaid labor. This article caught my eye because I watch many of the films that are involved with this and never really stop and think about the problems behind it. It was good to inform myself about this because like many other people I just watch the programming and never think about what problems are hidden. As a student this really impacts me because I am now more aware of what goes on. As a future filmmaker it can impact me because I am becoming more and more aware about things and I can make sure I try to avoid these problems by learning from others mistakes. After reading the article I am starting to ask my self questions like "Could this stuff be happening in other companies not just Fox?" or "How often has this happened before?" I was shocked at how many times Fox has been sued before but keeps being sued and does not learn from their mistakes.

  1. I agree with your shock at how many times Fox has been sued over similar situations. It is quite a surprised they yet have not learned from their mistakes, as you mentioned, considering the multiple times they have endured such problems. You also talked about the fact of not fully realize all the situations evolving behind the screen, which reminds me of myself because I too have failed to fully grasp what goes on behind closed curtains. Yet, with this article I was able to become more educated on the more legal issues that brew underneath the surface of each successful company.

  2. I totally agree with the questions you are asking yourself. I am asking myself the same questions. The problem with all these companies is that they get sued and we never know about it. It may be happening to so many other companies, but they never let the public know about it. They keep it so hidden it's unbelievable.

  3. I agree with you because I use to do the same thing, like watch movies and not think about the stuff that goes on behind the cameras. I also agree with your queations. Has Fox not learned its lesson ?

  4. I totally agree with you Laura. I sometimes don't worry about problems outside the box either and we benefit from this article because it informs us what happens within the company. I also agree with the question you asked,"Could this stuff be happening in other companies not just Fox?" this question is important because we ask future filmmakers and interns would like to know where exactly to go intern. We want to intern in a right environment. I totally agree with you.
